The Tërkuza case is not unknown to the public and even more so as a daily disturbing case for the inhabitants of the area. For 17 years in Kamza, there is an environmental massacre taking place in the Tërkuza river, where urban waste is being dumped near the river flow, AlpeNews.al writes exclusively.
11 kilometers from Tirana, in the area called Zall Herr, there is this waste dump that is very close to the Tërkuza river and very close to the homes of this area and very close to the homes of the zone.
Hospital waste, plastic items, tires, and plastic bags are some of the items one can notice along the river flow.
The Albanian Helsinki Committee has raised this concern based also on the complaints of inhabitants who find it impossible to live there but also the ecological damage caused in the area. AHC has assisted the inhabitants by taking the case to court.
